A total of 47 teams from across the IADC membership participated in this year’s IADC North Sea Chapter Texas Scramble Golf tournament on 26 and 27 June.

With the good fortune of fine weather on both days, golfers enjoyed another great tournament at Peterculter. PathFinder’s team (Andy Scott, Chris Kelly, Les Browne, and Steve Guzik) came out as victors over the two day tournament, with Redback Drilling Tools 2 and Global Energy Services picking up the Tournament runner up and 3rd place Awards.

The IADC North Sea Chapter team of Chairman Steve Rae, Connor Rae, Jay Richardson and John Davies picked up the silverware as winners of the Thursday event, with Cameron Surface Limited winners over Friday.

Ali Innes of Odfjell scored a first with a fantastic ‘Hole in One’ at the 10th, and was presented with a congratulatory bottle of Champagne.

Following on from the success of the previous year’s event, around 260 members enjoyed a great evening Prize Giving at a Marquee event at Kippie Lodge. Winners were announced by Hector Emslie, of new tournament organisers Golfers Scotland and prizes presented by IADC NSC Chairman Steve Rae.

After dinner humour was provided by Bill Copeland, and this was followed by dancing to the impressive five piece Glasgow band ‘Splash’.

Captain of the winning team, Andy Scott, PathFinder and IADC NSC Vice Chairman for Associate members was proud to be first recipient of a new trophy for this event. “The PathFinder team are delighted to be the winners of the 2008 IADC Texas Scramble Golf Tournament, probably the best drillers’ golfing event we have in Aberdeen. The whole event was managed brilliantly by Golfers Scotland and Peterculter Golf Course was in immaculate condition for the event. The Prize Giving dinner dance at Kippie Lodge was a great evening, and we look forward to the challenge of defending our title in 2009”.
